Bringing Your Class
What to Expect When You Bring Your Class
A day at Ramblewild or BaseCamp through Feronia Forward is more than a field trip, it’s a hands-on, outdoor learning experience that inspires growth, connection, and confidence in your students.
Once your class is approved for a scholarship, you’ll work with Ramblewild/BaseCamp’s staff to coordinate your visit. Your group will experience a mix of team-building, environmental education, and exploration through guided forest hikes, interactive sustainability lessons, and either the BaseCamp educational experience or the tree-to-tree aerial adventure park (depending on age, size, and height requirements).
You’ll also be required to schedule a brief site visit before the trip, so you can meet staff, plan logistics, and ensure a smooth experience for your students.
These visits typically last half a day (BaseCamp, ~2 hours) or a full day (RambleWild, ~4 hours) and are split between climbing activities and environmental learning time. Schools bring their own lunches and handle transportation, and all necessary equipment for the experience is provided. Most importantly, students leave with memories of accomplishment, teamwork, and discovery — and a deeper connection to the natural world. Students will also complete a pre and post visit survey.
“students who are struggling with emotional regulation issues, self-esteem issues, and relationship building have come back from a day at Ramblewild feeling proud of themselves and of their peers. They’ve announced that they felt like they conquered fears, overcame challenges, and made new connections with friends that they might not have, had they not had this experience.”
Quote from Kaitlyn Hunt. A teacher who coordinated this experience for her students.
